This year's Gentarasa 2009 is entitled "Bapa Borek, Anak Cerdik (Like Father, Smarter Son)"
A comedy theatre musical about a group of teenagers who decide to enter a talent quest contest organized by a community club entitled "Malay Got Talent". They form a hip-hop group and call themselves "Aura J.A.M.".
When it's their turn to come on stage, the father of one of the boys approaches them backstage and shares his secret of success. However, they were not paying attention as they were more focused to outperform their arch-rival, the Outkast IL2.
Using a special device, the father transported the teenagers into the past, Singapore in the 1960's. In order for them to return to the present, they must take part and win in the inter-kampong cultural competition.
